~Utilizing the multilingual AI speech synthesis service "OTO Creator"~

KODENSHA Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Kyo-Tetsu Ko; hereinafter "KODENSHA") has provided multilingual AI audio files for station announcements to a major railway company in the Tokyo metropolitan area, using its proprietary multilingual AI speech synthesis service, "OTO Creator."

By automatically playing these audio files in conjunction with broadcasting equipment, announcements for train approaches, arrivals, and departures will be broadcast in Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean at multiple major stations used by many foreign visitors. Expectations are high for improved guidance for station users, including international visitors, and increased efficiency in station operations.

[Conventional Challenges and Improvements with OTO Creator]
Conventional narration recording required arranging numerous narrators for each language and gender at a studio every time, which posed challenges in terms of high costs and time burdens.
With KODENSHA's "OTO Creator," simply entering Japanese text on a desktop PC allows for automatic translation into any desired language, enabling the creation of high-quality speech synthesis in 15 languages and 50 voices in a short time.
Furthermore, the ability to save the generated audio and repeatedly play it across various media is a significant benefit for users.
In this project, we also combined translation checks by our in-house native speakers with audio tuning to provide the client with natural and smooth broadcast audio, which was highly evaluated.

[Future Outlook]
The creation of audio sources is now evolving from traditional narrator recording to AI-based speech synthesis. We aim to provide more users in familiar places, such as transportation facilities, large commercial complexes, and department stores, with
